Is The 1874 Guest House adults-only?
What is your cancellation policy?
To confirm a reservation, we require a deposit of the first night plus tax.
Reservations canceled before 4:00 pm CST 14 days in advance will receive a full refund, minus a $50 administrative fee.
Reservations canceled any time after 4:00 pm CST 14 days before your reservation will result in full payment of your reservation.
Reservations that include a holiday or a special event must cancel by 4:00 pm CST 30 days before the reservation in order to receive a refund. Cancellations will be charged a $50 administrative fee.

Due to our small size, cancellations greatly affect us. Therefore, we must adhere to a strict cancellation policy. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

What time is check in/check out?
Check in is between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. We are happy to arrange later arrivals. Please contact us if you anticipate arriving after 6:00 pm.
Check out is at 11:00 am.
*Early check ins are based upon availability. We offer guests complimentary luggage storage if you arrive before your room is ready.

Is parking available?
We have 2 spaces available for parking behind the carriage house. They are first-come, first-served. Parking is also available on the street, which requires a neighborhood parking pass. If you are given a “guest parking pass”, it must be displayed on your rear view mirror at all times, or you will be ticketed by the city. You will be responsible for paying the set fee for said ticket to the city of Galveston. Upon check out, passes must be returned to the innkeeper. If it is not returned, a fee of $300 will be charged to your credit card on file.
You are allowed one car per room.
